Partnership

Interactions between the Ponce Health Sciences University and Moffitt Cancer Center began in 2002. Over the years, we have forged a strong working relationship founded on seamless communications and mutual support and benefits. Specifically, we have established joint programs for researchcancer outreachcancer research education and tissue banking resulting in the development of relationships, networks and infrastructure necessary for a sustained long-term Partnership.

The PHSU-MCC Partnership Partnership is supported by a grant from the National Cancer Institute to eliminate cancer-related health disparities affecting Hispanics. The focus of the Partnership is to develop and improve cancer care outcomes for Hispanic cancer patients in Puerto Rico and Florida who are underserved with respect to cancer care, personalized medicine, participation in clinical research and understanding the underlying basic mechanisms of cancer.
